Windows XP Update.
Windows XP Licenses are being discontinued by
Microsoft in January 2009:
This means that if you wish to replace an existing
system - or purchase a new system with Windows XP Professional, you must
act soon!
Existing Windows XP systems will NOT "Expire" or
stop working - if they are correctly licensed (i.e. for most users,
there is a Microsoft License sticker on the system itself)
If you are looking to purchase new PCs or
upgrade/replace existing systems in 2009 you should consider staying
with Windows XP if:
- You prefer the speed, look and feel of Windows XP
- Windows Vista is not compatible with your one or
more of your application programs currently in use, e.g. Office
97/2000/2002.
- You prefer to stay with Windows XP and/or do not
wish to use Windows Vista at the present time
- You intend to 'Skip' Windows Vista and wait for
the recently announced "Windows 7" which is expected to replace Vista in
2010, saving on retraining and re-learning another operating system as
well as further required software upgrades to suit "Windows 7"
If you are unsure of the implications of the end of
Windows XP licensing - or moving to Windows Vista, please call or email
Radix to discuss how this may affect you.
Radix will support Windows XP for the foreseeable
future and will help existing users stay with Windows XP as long as it
suits their needs. |
